RomGerMed wants 45-50% of the country and its leadership in the market of medical laboratories
Medical Group Romgermed currently owns a countrywide network of 22 medical laboratories.
Private healthcare operator Medical Group Romgermed will continue expanding medical laboratory services and network of clinics in Bucharest and aims to reach in 2015 a national coverage of 45-50% compared to 30%, now.
“Our goal is leadership on the market of medical tests. We are in a time of market development and we believe that Romgermed must come with a strategic approach, based on the changes that have occurred in recent years condensed market, “says Ciprian Nicoara, General Manager of Medical Group Romgermed. In financial terms, Nicoara expects in a interim balance sheet, that the turnover for 2014 will be 15% -20% higher than the previous year, when the turnover was 18 million euro.
Currently, Romgermed has 22 medical laboratories countrywide. The conflictual situation in Ukraine has suspended the plans to expand in Moldova, but the private healthcare operator opened last year a veterinary laboratory tests the largest in Romania. “For us it is important to develop the segment of veterinary tests (…) we believe that this market has a tremendous potential, proven by the development registered in recent years and we want to become a benchmark in the segment of specialized service providers.”
In terms of market evolution, Nicoara considers that the undergoing transformation is positive: “it is clear that public mentality is changing, becoming more pragmatic and wiser. Active audience, from urban areas, young families, is more closely to informations, analyzes very carefully the offer and the results. In Romania, the way the patient perceives the offer of medical services (under all the aspects – quality, cost, etc.) change at a certain time. This has led to an obvious evolution towards the approach of 5-10 years ago, “adds Nicoara.
